Odoo integration & automation

Modular ERP and CRM that grows app by app — connect it to everything else your business runs without losing that flexibility

Odoo is built from many separate apps — sales, warehouse, accounting, and more — and almost everything a connected app holds can be reached from the outside for linking to your other systems, once the account is on a plan that includes it. We link Odoo with your other tools, including its own ready connections to well-known payment services, so a record updates itself in both places instead of someone keeping two systems in sync by hand.

What we connect

  • Nearly every piece of data and every feature inside Odoo — sales, warehouse, accounting, whichever apps you run — can be reached from outside for connecting, not just a narrow slice.
  • Odoo already has ready connections to well-known payment services, so a payment made through one of them can be recognised and tied to the right record.
  • Signing in for the outside connection is separate from a regular sign-in to the cloud account — someone sets a dedicated password or access key specifically for this purpose, so day-to-day accounts stay untouched.
  • This outside connection is only switched on for accounts on a custom-priced plan — it doesn't come with the entry-level single-app plan or the standard plan.
  • Almost nothing can be read or changed through the connection before it proves who's asking, so a stray, unproven request never reaches your data.
  • For anything a ready connection doesn't cover, we build a custom data flow on top, so records stay linked exactly the way your process needs.

Automation scenarios

01

A payment comes through a connected payment service

Before someone checks the payment provider's dashboard and updates the order by hand.

After Odoo recognises the payment and updates the record tied to it on its own.

02

A sale happens in a connected sales tool

Before a warehouse person manually adjusts stock numbers inside Odoo afterwards.

After the app that tracks stock updates itself the moment the sale is recorded.

03

The account is still on a starter plan

Before without the outside connection switched on, the same updates are typed into both systems by hand.

After once the account moves to a plan that includes the connection, those updates start moving on their own.

04

A new employee needs their account ready for a connection

Before their regular sign-in doesn't work for it, so nothing connects until someone notices.

After a dedicated password or access key made specifically for the outside connection is set once, and it works from then on.

How it works technically

For those who want to check: each point links to the official documentation page it comes from.

  • Almost all Odoo data and features are reachable from outside for connecting or analysis; part of that is available over XML-RPC from a variety of programming languages.

  • Outside data access is only available on custom-priced plans — it isn't available on the entry-level single-app plan or on the standard plan.

  • Cloud (Odoo Online) accounts need a locally set password to use the outside connection, since a regular sign-in through Odoo Online's own authentication doesn't work for it.

  • Since version 14.0, Odoo supports access keys that can replace a password in scripts, while the account's regular sign-in stays the same.

  • Almost all requests must be authenticated before querying data; only a small technical entry point, such as confirming the server version, works without signing in.

Limits

The outside connection isn't available on every plan — only on the custom-priced plan; the entry-level plan for one app and the standard plan don't include it. A cloud account additionally needs a dedicated password set just for this connection, separate from the regular sign-in.

  1. 01

    Leave a request

Describe the task in the form — in text or by voice. Budget and timing are optional.

  2. 02

    We review and estimate

A developer studies the brief, asks about anything unclear and sends an estimate.

  3. 03

    We start

Once scope and price are agreed, the work begins.

Questions

Does every Odoo plan support connecting it to other systems?
No — the outside connection only comes with the custom-priced plan, not with the entry-level single-app plan or the standard plan.
Can Odoo recognise a payment automatically?
Yes — it already has ready connections to well-known payment services, so a payment can be tied to the right record without anyone checking by hand.
Why doesn't our regular Odoo sign-in work for the outside connection?
Cloud accounts sign in through a shared login screen without a local password — for the outside connection, a dedicated password or access key is set just for that purpose.
Is there a way to avoid putting an account password directly in a script?
Yes — an access key can replace the password in a script since Odoo version 14.0, without touching the account's regular sign-in.
